Teachers have adopted phone pockets to deal with the possibility of students being on their phones during class. Now that the rules have been changed, these pockets have become more common throughout the school. However, teachers do have some freedom in how they choose to enforce the new rules. “I get that a teacher’s classroom is their classroom and I want them to feel independent and that they can do what they need to do,” Dean of Students Nick Colangelo said.

New Additions to the CHS Block

The Conifer Library opens to the public at 3pm on weekdays, 20 minutes after the school day ends. Next year, however, class will end an hour later, further reducing public access to the library. “The high school time change is an opportunity to reevaluate what the Conifer branch looks like, and so that has shifted the timeline,” Jeffco Library Board Chair Kim Johnson said.

Jefferson County Public Library printed out many different designs to put on buttons, including fun ones and ones surrounding social issues and general Day without Hate designs. The event was free for everyone and encouraged students to speak their minds with the designs chosen.

Conifer students dressed in white cheer on the Lobos in the first playoffs game against Pueblo County. The night had a “Greek” theme, so some students took the opportunity to dress up in togas and leafy, golden headbands. Some even came prepared with handmade signs.

Boys Basketball Ends the Season as League Champs

Veteran Breakfast

As the sun disappears, small spotlights illuminate the skeletons and their tombstones. Sounds of cracking twigs and squeaky coffin lids echo from an unseen source. The graveyard near the end of the trail held tombstones with many different inscriptions.
