Passionate music filled the classrooms mid-February to bring fun and love to the Valentine’s holiday. Valograms are fundraising sung valentines delivered by the choir that students could buy for their peers.
This year the choir had two options including “From the Start” by Laufey and “Just the Way you Are” by Bruno Mars. Delivered during labs, both songs could be chosen and ordered for people around the school, some making special orders for their friends.

“We start selling them the first week of February and sell them during lunch,” junior Abigail Cutsforth said. “And then the week of Valentine’s day is when we actually sing to people during labs.”
Profits from the valograms are used to fund the choir program, each valogram costing five dollars.
“They can be super funny and it’s just so embarrassing for students to get it,” senior Hannah Norris said. “But it’s funny for us, and it funds our choir for the year.”
Valograms have become a tradition put on by the Conifer Choir since the revival of the program in 2024.
The choir appreciates the valogram receivers’ reactions, seeing many get embarrassed or happy.

“I think it’s just fun, and some people think it’s embarrassing, but if you’re not embarrassed, then no one else is,” Cutsforth said.
Valograms are a wonderful way for students to share gifts of music and enjoyment with friends or their valentine. Serenading students, the choir consists of bases, altos, tenors, and sopranos.
Acting as a fundraiser for the program, the valograms bring funds to the club that allow them to invest in resources.
“It supports our choir. Music sheets are expensive, and it would really help us out,” Norris said.
Students interested in choir can talk to Mrs. Sarche in the choir room or the office.

Valograms will return next year, bringing musical celebration full of love and laughter.
“It’s funny to prank your friends this way,” Norris said. “It shows them a little love.”
