Colorado Melodic Death Metal band, “Bleed the Vain” performed at the Mercury Cafe on Saturday, November 23rd with bands “Liars Handshake”, “Lions and Crows”, and “Blood Across the Sky”.
Bleed the Vain formed in June of 2022. Members consist of Johnny Thrash on guitar, Payden Browning on vocals, Adrian Montoya on bass, Nick Rich on guitar and Dennis Schaudt on drums. Dennis Schaudt was recently featured on “Colorado Music Scene: The Clocktower Rituals” story.
The band’s first release, “Blackened Lust” dropped on all platforms October 31st of 2023. To this day, that song is one of their most popular releases yet, and is still growing. Each member of this band has been involved in older ones that have been split up for quite some time.
Bleed the Vain has had multiple big opportunities in the short amount of time they’ve been playing. Their first big show was in Greeley playing with “Draghoria”, “Human Paint”, and “Dystopioid”. That show was played at the Moxi Theatre, and ended up selling out within only hours before the doors opened. The venue was packed, and the attendees reacted well with Bleed the Vains set. At the time they had around 5 songs to perform during shows. Now they’ve got more that are ready for release, and more that are currently in the works.
After the concert in Greeley, the members of Bleed got an offer from Draghoria to play again in the future. They played at the Moxi Theatre a second time with Draghoria, but the attendance count was lower. After the second show, they offered to bring Bleed on a short tour to El Paso, Texas, and played on the RockHouse Stage.
Bleed the Vain was recently featured on the New Fury magazine that covers underground bands and artists. In the short coverage, they explain that they are considered a “Melodic Death-Metal” band with hints of Thrash and other genres.
Bleed the Vain is on short track to becoming a part of Colorado’s biggest bands with the way that they are moving. They have a very versatile sound, and are always experimenting with how they can improve it. The endless hours of practice since 2022 are beginning to pay off, and has gotten them some of the biggest shows they’ve played yet.
The amount of attention they received during this recent show at the Mercury Cafe on social media shows how much of an affect they have on an audience. An audience member Gustavo Kolndorfer posted on Facebook tagging the band saying “@Bleed The Vain Destroying everything last night!!”. They also had a large audience on the floor, as seen in the first photo. All of the bands from the 23rd are fairly popular, with Liars Handshake being the biggest. Although attendance count could have been better for this show, they still gained traction from a younger audience and fans from the other bands.
Bleed The Vain is likely on track to being a bigger band than any of the previous ones the members have been a part of. They are rising on social media, and fast. They currently sit at 1.1k followers on FaceBook after their performance at Mercury, and it’s likely to continue rising over the next few years. Bleed The Vain is one of a kind.
