Poem: To Be a Poet

Thoughts and ideas swirl through the mind,

Unforgiving and loud, crowding out reason.

They come swiftly but leave without warning.

Just get it down on paper.

Use your bright mind.

Be a poet who paints a picture.

But the ideas, so fleeting, disappear altogether.

The art of the mind, gone before it’s captured.

To be a poet is to catch the mind in the moment.

The time where thoughts flow freely

And manifest themselves on the page.
