Emerson Brooks poses on the baseball field in her West Jefferson jersey and glove. West Jefferson Baseball was founded in 1984 and has had around 5,000+ players through its program. This competitive program is meant for girls and boys ages 8-14 and is where many Conifer players start their baseball careers. Brooks is the first female on the Conifer High School Baseball team and played on this league growing up. “One thing my mom tells me is that if anyone ever looks at you weird for what you’re doing, remember that you're accomplishing your goals and it shows your confidence,” Brooks said. A pinball ejects from a scoop on a popular game, “Road Show.” During Blizzard Mountain Pinball’s 24 hour tournament, players competed on 39 different machines, all from different decades. “It’s a huge spread, and there’s a lot of rare and unique machines, which are a good challenge for me,” player David Ariew said. A judge (Zach Brennan) oversees the court and attempts to keep the practice trial on track while the witness delivers her statement. The tournament trial will be held in front of a real Jefferson County judge and teams will be judged on presentation, knowledge, improvisation, and logic. Though the Conifer team is not alone in training for the event, as the team has several lawyers helping them with court procedures and arguments. “We’ve got another parent who is helping out with logistics and getting everybody organized as well,” Benish said.

Troop 737 set out to deploy trail markers around the park, in line with the course's directions. Each marker has the coordinates for the next marker location, and reminds guests of the Scout’s most important rule of traveling in nature; Leave No Trace. “I think it’ll benefit the community by introducing more people to hiking, since it’s interactive,” senior Lauren Hansen said. “We didn’t have an orienteering course up in the area, so I think it’s really nice that we do now.”

This is where the Conifer Reflective Garden is located. This is right near the bottom of the stairs and has a beautiful view of the mountains. Not many people have ever stepped foot on the garden, although, according to the Conifer Staff, the students will be tasked with the maintenance of it starting the 2025-2026 school year.

We played a very good game for the first game of the season, and riding the bus with my friends was very fun I love it very much,” Caballero said.
