Conifer girls basketball took on Alameda Pirates on Tuesday, February 18, at Conifer High School. 

This game was very important because it was the start of the state tournament. Conifer took the win with a score of 61-34, determining their spot in the state tournaments.  

“I don’t think we played our best at certain quarters, I think we were a little bit out of it. But, I do think we did pretty good,” Emma Mead, a junior player, said.

The team’s defense was strong that night, and the energy grew as they played. Now that the team is guaranteed a spot in the state tournament, they have their own goals of what they want to achieve. 

“I think we should definitely have harder practices that go over more in depth plays,” Mead said.
