The Denver Juniors 16 Colorado volleyball team has recently competed in a national tournament taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah, and a tournament at North Field High School. Throughout the season, the team has participated in many tournaments and powers that have grown them as a team, and as people.
“I can’t believe this season is ending so soon. I have really grown to love these girls and consider them some of my best friends. This team has also helped me grow so much in volleyball and there’s a huge difference from how I was at the beginning of the season. The girls and my coach have also helped me to really better myself and become a better person than I was before,” sophomore Casey Seabourne said.
Conifer High School Students Emily Bunchman, Casey Seabourne, Lillian Livingston, Izzy Fischer, and Kaylea Pike recently traveled to Salt Lake City to participate in the 2025 Showdown. During this event, the 16 Colorado club team competed in the national qualifier and played teams from around the country. The event lasted three days, with an A.M. and P.M. wave to keep track of all the teams. Each day the team played three to four games and on the last day played one.

“Salt Lake has to be one of my favorite memories from this season. It was so much fun and I really bonded with my team more than ever. Not only was it fun getting to play volleyball for three days straight, I think it was really good for us because we got to grow our skills and learn how to work under pressure, but we also improved so much at being a team and working together,” sophomore Izzy Fischer said.
The team has participated in five power tournaments and one national tournament. With the season coming to an end, the team has been preparing for tryouts and their next high school season.
“I’m so sad the season is almost over, but I’m honestly really excited to do camps and tryouts over summer and I’m excited for the high school season. I’ll miss this team so much but I know I’ve improved a ton and can’t wait to see what happens next,” sophomore Lillian Livingston said.
Closing out the season, the team had another tournament on April 27, consisting of teams solely within the club.
“This whole season has been a roller coaster. We won some games and we lost some games but it was definitely worth every second. Being on this team has taught me so much and improved me as a person. I wouldn’t be where I am without them and I can’t wait to see where they go. This was definitely one of my favorite seasons playing volleyball and I wouldn’t change a thing,” Seabourne said.
