Bass player Adrian played in a band called “FIST FIGHT” which was fairly popular in the Colorado scene of metal. He’s known in the scene for his bass’s tone, which has a punchy, and very electric feel to it. He also brought his son along, and he helped with moving gear around.
Colorado Music Scene: Bleed the Vain
New coach Joshua Templeton surveys the boys basketball team during a preseason training. “I feel great.” Templeton said, “There’s a lot of energy and buzz. I feel like the guys are really excited about basketball, and I’m really excited about coaching.”
Preseason for Upcoming Sports
The Mountain Area Lumberjacks girls' rugby JV team faced off against the Fort Collins Hammers on Saturday, November 2nd at the state tournament. Evelyn Westwood passes the ball to a teammate in the first half as the Lumberjacks go on to win 22-5. “Rugby is such a welcoming sport—I never thought I’d enjoy it as much as I do,” Westwood said.
GRIT: Girls Rugby is Tough
Templeton closes out the night by telling the players how he feels about their performance. He explained that he’s proud of the work they did, and he wants to see them back again soon for another round of practice and tryouts.
New Coach, Who Dis?
Emerson Brooks poses on the baseball field in her West Jefferson jersey and glove. West Jefferson Baseball was founded in 1984 and has had around 5,000+ players through its program. This competitive program is meant for girls and boys ages 8-14 and is where many Conifer players start their baseball careers. Brooks is the first female on the Conifer High School Baseball team and played on this league growing up. “One thing my mom tells me is that if anyone ever looks at you weird for what you’re doing, remember that you're accomplishing your goals and it shows your confidence,” Brooks said. Pitching for Change
A pinball ejects from a scoop on a popular game, “Road Show.” During Blizzard Mountain Pinball’s 24 hour tournament, players competed on 39 different machines, all from different decades. “It’s a huge spread, and there’s a lot of rare and unique machines, which are a good challenge for me,” player David Ariew said.
