Lore Olympus Webcomic Review

Summary

Lore Olympus, a webcomic by Rachel Smythe, tells many classic Greek myths with a focus on the love story between Hades, the king of the Underworld, and Persephone, the Goddess of Spring. This comic retells Greek myths with a modern spin and beautiful art to go along with it. It not only tells the story of Hades and Persephone, but many others too, such as Psyche and Eros, and Zeus and Hera.

Review

This comic has an absolutely gorgeous style of artwork and storytelling. Its ability to fit so many different characters and stories into short chapters is incredible. The characters are so lovable to the point where the reader genuinely cares about what happens to them, and you get so lost in the story that you forget how you’re actually learning about many different Greek myths. The short, captivating chapters leave the reader wanting to read just one more every single time. The art style, while very simple, is so adorable, beautiful, and absolutely perfect for the story. Its modern retelling is easy to understand without taking away from the original myths, and there is so much humor incorporated in the story while not being overpowering. This comic is absolutely incredible. It makes the reader laugh, cry, and beg the author to release more than one chapter a week.
