The Book of Ivy

The Book of Ivy

General Summary

Two kids stand in the only town left, everything else destroyed as wars wreck what once was a thriving country. The town is divided by old vendettas; it seems peace is balanced on the edge of a knife, and the only thing keeping it from falling is the marriage forced upon two children. The world outside the town’s walls may have been destroyed by nuclear wars, but it doesn’t take a bomb to crumble a society. The two kids learn to lean on each other as everything else falls apart and they fight to stay together in a crumbing town.

Review

This book will keep you turning the pages as the plot deepens with each chapter. It keeps you wanting to know what happens next. The plot seems clear at first but with every new twist, the ending seems less and less clear. With both romance and suspense this book ends with even more loose ends than it starts with and will make you reach for the sequel even before you’re done with the first.
