. Golden was ranked 3rd in Colorado in the entire class of 4A and Conifer was 7th coming into the game.

This was by far one of the most important, if not the most important, games of the season even though it was only Conifer’s second of the season.
From the very beginning of the game both teams were going back and forth for the lead. During the fifth inning the teams went into a lighting delay with the score 5-4, Conifer. As the game resumed neither team showed signs of the delay being a pushback. The teams continued the back and forth battle and by the bottom of the 7th, the game was tied at 8.
With a runner on second, Kilgore came up and hit a ground ball single up the middle, nearly hitting the pitcher and the winning run came around to score.
